Well, we ARE here on a mission to help the Lord's gospel move forward, and I haven't written too much about it. Last Fast Sunday, the mission president, President Stucki, asked all the missionaries (roughly 225), as well as all the wards in the stake to fast for missionary work, specifically that the missionaries would be able to find the pure in heart who were ready to hear the gospel. The fruition of that request was partially fulfilled last weekend, when across the mission there were 60 baptisms.
We are so excited about that, and feel that, in our small way, we are helping that work to move forward. We are excited to be here, and grateful to be here. We love the Manila Mission, we love the missionaries to a one, and we love the gospel! We are so grateful that the missionaries found us 36 years ago, and grateful that we were smart enough to listen when the Spirit spoke. We are grateful for the blessings of the gospel in our lives, which include our wonderful family.
A little side note: We were driving in to town yesterday, when all of a sudden we heard--you won't believe it--a calf bawling! In the middle of Metro Manila! Turned out, it was a motorcycle's horn. We enjoyed that all day!
